Dental Recruitment Day DRD-UK 2004

DRD - UK 2004. With 230 registered participants, over 140 attended the inaugural Dental Recruitment Day UK 2004 event.

December 4, 2004 -- DRD 2004 Recruitment Event: UK open for business.

With 230 registered participants, over 140 attended the inaugural Dental Recruitment Day UK 2004 event. After the opening and plenary session in the morning, the serious business of information exchange and recruitment got underway. By early afternoon the workshops were buzzing with candidates and other interested visitors.

Two of the key messages emerging from this first days sessions were that the use of MnM is giving a competitive edge to the dental sector in the UK and mainland Europe, and that progressive strengthening of the EU Labour Market can have amazing results.

The recruitment programme appealed to industry decision-makers from the public sector, private industry, and World-recognised educational bodies, as well as to interested media. Special attention was noted by young people and students, sharing the common interests and challenges: to improve the prosperity, work security and quality of life for all Europeans through the development of a One-Stop-Centred Recruitment Event.

The general theme of the first DRD event was:
DRD 2004 - Recruiting dentists for the future of the NHS & Advice on Living and Working in the UK as a Dentist
1) the NHS needs to boost the morale of dentists in the UK and create more high-standard jobs:
Dental Education and Preventative Care methods for sustainable citizens health
The key role of DRD for urgent job placement in UK with MnMs positive approach
Performance-Based contracts with greater rewards and recognition for dentists in the public sector
MnMs impressive success in recruiting comes from positive aggressive actions like DRD, its Sponsors, and above all, its true commitment to its Candidates
Sustainable competitive recruitment advantage is increased based on the DRD network of contacts throughout Europe and beyond: MnM offices and representations, MnM training and educational centres, MnM people and their skills, MnM processes and procedures, MnM as an organisation, The MnM culture
2) MnM set up a fast track dental recruitment action (DRD) as the best driver to solve the dental crisis in the UK by utilising Europes labour force, professionals with innovation, and positive aggressive entrepreneurship:
Without EU labour force, a quick solution to the UK dental crisis is not possible, since recruiting from outside the EU requires immense time for assessment and verification of credentials before an offer is made. Dentists are needed NOW!
DRD is the key solution for fast-track recruitment, training and professional development in the UK and mainland Europe
Good Recruitment is as much about people, education, organisation, and culture as it is about networking
The government needs to cut from traditional boundaries and establish better collaboration between its European partners

Society is changing for the better. New environments mean new demands, and new patterns are emerging, such as living longer, better lifestyle, increased awareness, new forms of governments engaging with their communities, the feeling and looking good factor, new approaches to good healthcare. The combination of all of these would seriously impact on any industry and one must be prepared to adjust and change else be doomed to failure.

The workshop topics were focused on a set of four crosscutting themes that were addressed in the recruitment sessions as well as within the morning conference. These four were as follows:

Workshop 1 Face to Face interviews with potential employers
Workshop 2 Q & A on living and working in Wales and England
Workshop 3 Working for public and/or private sector
Workshop 4 Guidance on registrations, finance, training & development

The final programme of DRD incorporated input by the Dental Practitioners Associations Chief Executive, Mr. Derek Watson, who responded to the calls from ordinary dentists for help with ideas aimed at stimulating interesting proposals for working and Living in the UK as a dentist. The DPA did marvellous work that received various ovations from the enthused crowd.

Following the Dental Recruitment Day (DRD-UK 2004) in London Gatwicks Hilton, Dr. Karoly Moser (Chairman of MnM International) and his team are now preparing a series of DRD events across Europe, to discuss labour market developments in dentistry in the UK, to explain opportunities for European dentists (IELTS qualified) to come and work in Britain, and to learn new dental skills and ways to practice, which will all benefit patients in the United Kingdom. The new initiative will greatly benefit the NHS and society as a whole.

THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING DRD-UK 2004
